Trouble shooting

If you are faced with an issue that is not solved by the solutions below, please file an issue in P44D5 github repository.

General

P44D5 won't start

Make sure that the default.cnfmidi is in its ./configurations/ folder. If it is missing redownload it from our github, or create a new one as follow, ad be sure to place it in the ./configurations/ folder:

On windows

Additionally, make sure you have created the virtual midi port. and that this port is up and running before starting P44D5.

MIDI configuration loaded but some pads are not recognized

At the moment, when creating a new MIDI configuration, the pad setup pipeline is a bit finecky and might not detect 100% of the pad pressed event when they happen.

The simplest solution is to recreate the configuration and be careful to press the pads multiple times before validating the pad pop-up setup.

Alsa dependency missing

Install the following package:

sudo apt-get install libasound2-dev
